Maple Leaf International School
Student Council
Who We Are
We, the Student Council, are composed of a diverse group of talented students. We range from grade nine to grade twelve. We are a very creative bunch - sometimes the creativity just explodes! Hopefully, the outcomes are enjoyable for the students and good for our school. All viewpoints are respected and every member is treated equally and is valued for his or her difference. During our elections, the one thing all of us had in common was our ambition to make "2011-2012" the best it can be for students and staff. We are similar to links in a chain - we are strong together.

What We Do
The student council is a main component of the school Leadership Development Program.
We organize all student events ranging from dress down days to school sports tournaments to the annual talent show. We co-ordinate important school committees such as, fundraising , character education and special events. We meet with school administration to present the student viewpoint on important issues. We also collaborate with the PTA in any and all student related activities.
Our Arts committee produces and supports cultural initiatives, and any promotional materials. Currently we are working on estabilishing a new tradition, the Maple Leaf Prom, and High School Sports Day. Our Communications Committee helps the school wake up each morning to student run announcements. We are busy workers who meet frequently to stay ahead of the game.
One of the ways the student council supports the Character Education initiative is by presenting an assembly each month based on the character trait under study. These assemblies are meant to be informative and entertaining, we also bring in well known guest speakers for the students benefit.
We are always trying to make the student experience at Maple Leaf the best it can be. All ideas are welcomed and valued. Come and join us.
