Maple Leaf International SchoolNewsletter • Maple Leaflet • TestimonialDear Mrs. Pomeroy, Mr. Fenton, Mrs. Riley and teachers and staff at MLIS, Just a little card to say a big thank you for all these years our children spent at Maple Leaf. We are grateful for the teachers who have guided them and helped them realise their full potentials, making it a very positive learning experience. Our three children will always carry a little of you in their future undertakings wherever in this world they will be. Thank you and all the best, The Dominguez Family TO: The Principal, Staff and Administrative Staff, Maple Leaf International School SUBJECT: Thank you from Michael & Adam Montano I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all at Maple Leaf for making Michael's year such a successful and memorable one. Both Adam and Michael did so very well there, not just academically, but socially and otherwise. I was very lucky to have been able to get them into your school and I thank God that I did! Maple Leaf is truly exceptional and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to every parent who has the opportunity to choose between the public system and private institutions, such as yours. Certainly, Michael and Adam's entry into a Canadian University has been made all the more easier for having spent their 12th Grade with you. However, if I had had the opportunity to start them off from primary level, I would definitely have done so. From a personal point of view, I have compared the styles and systems of yours and our public school system, and I prefer yours. It is as simple as that. Finally, a great big thanks to you all at Maple Leaf, including Ollie, for taking such good care of my sons and preparing them so very well for their futures, we will always be grateful. With Very Good Wishes, and May God Bless You All. The Montano Family The other night I had the absolutely unbelievable pride and joy of seeing and hearing Christopher performs on pan at the ‘real-life' concert. If you ask Michelle Riley about the Christopher she once assessed, she'll tell you what a remarkable achievement this is - not from a musical point of view but simply because he did it! After his performance he was approached by older musicians (also from the show and some of them pannists) and I saw him holding his own with them in what was apparently a post-mortem of the show and discussions on his own musical future. The following day I watched him play a major Zonal Football Final, after which I was complimented by various coaches on his football skills.
These ramblings all lead to this ‘Thank You' note. From A Student ......... Comments about Maple Leaf International School The day I entered the doors of Maple Leaf International School on September 2nd 2008. I felt the difference from public school. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming to "the new kid on the block." Academically, I had only four subjects to focus on instead of eight which was a lot easier and I enjoy all the projects that were given during the semester. I also found that having new courses in February (the start of the second semester) was refreshing and exciting; it was like a whole new first day of school meeting some new teachers and a whole new class. The students were very welcoming and accepting. On my first day I remember that I found a group of really good friends who are some of my close friends today. However, I think what I enjoy most about MLIS is their secondary school teaching staff. They are excellent teachers who take the time to and make every effort to ensure that I understand what is being taught and have the best chance to do well in the course. They are also very approachable and have helped me get through many very difficult points in my life. They keep classes both educational and fun and really look out for their students. I enjoy and look forward to coming to school everyday and feel proud to be a member of the MLIS community. The MLIS opportunity is truly one I will remember for life and have enjoyed to the fullest. Furthermore I think that attending MLIS with the help of the teachers has allowed me to mature and learn skills which will open many doors for me in the future and values which have made me a better person and one who is ready to face society as the best possible individual. |
